As part of the Viking Library System, the Douglas County Library will take part in a virtual tour of Minnesota Book Award winners.
The Moving Words series will feature authors Peter Geye, Kaethe Schwehn, Chaun Webster, and Diane Wilson for readings and discussion at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26. The event is free and open to the public, and captioning will be provided. To register in advance, visit thefriends.org/perham.
Moving Words provides an opportunity for writers and readers to explore various themes together, including the impact of literature in their lives, their connection as fellow Minnesotans, and the lens through which we read.
The Minnesota Book Awards is a year-long program that connects readers and writers across the state with the stories of their neighbors. Winners are announced at the spring Minnesota Book Awards Ceremony. Woven throughout the season are various events, including Moving Words, that promote the authors and connect the world of Minnesota books – writers, artists, illustrators, publishers, editors, and more – to readers throughout the state.
Moving Words, a program of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, is partly funded by the Minnesota Department of Education and partly by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
